Scientist of the Week Sydney!

We recently began our scientist of the week! Each child will have the opportunity to practice and perform an experiment for our class. Sydney was our first scientist and she brought her mom along as her assistant! She decided to do a volcano experiment and showed us how to create an eruption! This fits perfectly with our new study of rocks & minerals! Sydney used baking soda & vinegar to make the explosion and we were excited to see what happened when these ingredients were mixed. We brainstormed ideas of what other combinations may create a similar affect. It will be neat to see the rest of our experiments...it is fun to make connections between different activities and share new scientific knowledge with each other. Awesome job being our first scientist, Sydney! Our next scientist will be Alex!
