Balance and Motion

We recently started an inquiry based unit on balance and motion. Inquiry work requires a lot of patience and stamina....not easy for 2nd graders! We have been working on documenting our work and working as a team to better understand the concept of balance. We began by discussing our prior what knowledge of what balance is to us. We showed that we have a lot schema on this topic and how it relates to our everyday life. Through our investigations it is our hope to help children to develop a curiosity for learning and build perseverance in exploring new ideas and problem solving. It has been fun to try new ideas and build onto our knowledge of balance with each investigation. More to come...we are just getting started!
