Super Bowl Fun!

In preparation for Sunday's Super Bowl, Friday was filled with football fun! We made Patriots hats, designed our own football t-shirts, and learned about commercials. Mrs. Young told us just how expensive Super Bowl commercials can be - up to 4.5 million dollars! We had an opportunity to view some very funny Doritos commercials and learned that commercials use "bandwagon" techniques or emotional appeals to hook their audience. Then, we got into small groups to create our own commercials. With our expertise in persuasion, we went to work on filming! 

In conjunction with our persuasive writing unit, we also made Super Bowl predictions with Ms. Decoteau last week. With our prediction, we gave a specific example to support our opinion. Once we wrote up our writing pieces, we attached them to football players that we made out of construction paper. We look forward to checking out who predicted correctly!
