Balance

While this looks like playing, not to mention a whole lot of fun, it acted as an extension in our unit on Balance. We had a blast trying different ways to build stable structures and applied concepts of counter balance and stability learned through prior explorations. While many were captivated by building tall towers using the most blocks, some of us worked on the challenge of using fewer blocks to build the tallest structure possible. HMMM...Maybe we will take this exploration further. Could be interesting! It took a whole lot of patience and team work but as our expressions show we had a great time exploring balance. Our hands-on, real life experience really helped us offer thoughtful evidence about balance in our  open discussion that followed. Check out more photos below!
