Marty Kelley's visit!

Local author and illustrator Marty Kelley visited us before vacation! He shared some of his stories with us and explained the long process that goes into creating a published book. We loved seeing his sketches and how he changed characters in his stories many times before the final product. He also told us that a lot of his friends and family members helped inspire the way he represented the characters in his books. 2nd graders became illustrators and drew pictures to represent a poem Marty Kelley shared about a lost dog. It was fun to see all the different ideas we had. We are a creative bunch!  Marty Kelley Site
