St. Patrick's Day!

This week we started learning about Ireland... we are excited about this study and have a lot to learn! A few summers ago I had the opportunity to attend the U. of Galway. I spent the month learning about the culture & educational system. It was a life changing experience and I am so lucky to be able to share my adventure with your children! Today we had a
small St. Patrick's day celebration. Mrs. Nigrello provided some Irish Soda bread for our "tea time"break and we participated in a special math activity to reinforce sorting, graphing and fraction skills. The biggest highlight was the visit from Lucky the Leprechaun. Boy, did he cause quite a stir! First we found Leprechaun dust on our desks, then a yummy gold coin and lastly he left his hat behind! Don't even ask what he did to our bathroom...many of us are hoping that Lucky visits their home! They asked if they could leave a note for Lucky to respond to on our return Monday. I have never seen us write so quickly and eagerly. Looks like Lucky will be busy...Priceless...
