Thick and Thin Questions

We continue to work on asking questions. We started by generating questions before reading and have extended that concept into seeing if our questions are answered within the text. We also have talked about questions we have after we have finished reading and have made for interesting discussions on piecing our thinking together. Now that we have the concept of stopping and asking questions throughout our reading we are focusing on asking THICK and Thin questions. Thick questions are ones that make us think and search (What if.., How would you feel.. Why do you think) Thin questions are questions that are right there in the text (who, what, where, how many). Continue to encourage us to ask questions before, during, and after reading! Don't forget to log your reading in your APE book.
