We Are Bucket Fillers!

This week we have been working on being bucket fillers. We based this concept on the book, "Have You Filled A Bucket Today? (A Guide to Daily Happiness For Kids)

This book explains that each of us carries an invisible bucket that contains our feelings. When our bucket is full, we feel great. When our bucket is empty, we feel upset.

What is a bucket filler you ask?

A bucket filler is someone who works to fill other peoples bucket through kind acts. When we do nice things for others it also fills our bucket. When we dip from sones bucket we may hurt someones feelings, it also dips into our own. When someone dips from our bucket we can feel sad, even angry at times. In 2B we are working on NOT calling others bucket dippers when they have upset us. Instead we are working on voicing when our feelings are hurt and working together to resolve the issue.

What does 2B think are some ways to fill someone's bucket?
- Ask someone who is lonely to play with you or sit with you at lunch.
-Include friends.
-Share with others.
-Encourage others--tell them "good job."
-When someone is sad talk to them or give them a hug.
-If someone is hurt help them up.
-Help someone if they get stuck on a problem.

Bucket filling is not just for kids. Check out this quick read for adults!
