We had two wonderful field trips over the past few weeks! Our first was Great Bay- Here we had a chance to hold and learn about the Horseshoe Crab and even saw two swimming together in the water. Horseshoe crabs approach the Northeast Atlantic mid spring to lay their eggs. How lucky are we to have this right near our hometown?! We also went on a trail walk and learned about lots of animals that live in the estuary. This past Friday we had a beautiful day at the rocky shore at Odiorne. We spent the morning exploring the tide pools and had quite a bit of luck in finding interesting creatures including a few lobsters, lots of crabs and even a Flounder! In the afternoon we attended a talk about sharks-- I was so impressed with our knowledge and questions about sharks, especially since we have only studied them during independent studies. Thank you to all who were able to join us! We had a great time!
