Shapes Unit

For our unit on shapes, the students had the opportunity to go on a shape hunt around our classroom and school to explore where they could find shapes in their every day lives. Their job was to work as a team to walk through the hallways and use iPads to document the shapes they found. The students seemed to really enjoy it! Here are some of the shapes they found:

The students' next task was to use their gained knowledge of shapes to create a piece of art that encompassed the shapes they discovered. They worked in teams to do this and I was very impressed by their creativity! The students did a great job of working collaboratively with their teammates to share ideas, plan out their work, and present their projects to their classmates. 

It was great to see the students' excitement and creativity throughout the shapes unit. The students took charge of their learning and collaborated with their teammates to successfully learn about shapes and their attributes!
