Flat Stanley's St. Lucia Adventure

We just started reading about the adventures of Flat Stanley. Flat Stanley is a story book character who was crushed by a bulletin board-ouch! Now he is so thin he can fit through small cracks and crevices allowing him to travel around the country. Stanley will be visiting our friends and family members over the next few weeks for some fun adventures.  This project will help us in our study of our country and help us develop mapping skills!

Recently I visited beautiful St. Lucia in the Carribean! Flat Stanley found his way into my suitcase...I just couldn't leave him in cold NH alone.
We had the opportunity to visit the beautiful Pitons (volcanic plugs) a water fall, and got to snorkel on the coast. We saw beautiful tropical fish, lots of coral and crabs! The water was so, so warm...especially compared to our ocean!

We also went to an volcano in Soufriere and saw the sulphur springs... it smelled like rotten eggs-- not pleasant. Don't worry-- this was a dormant volcano and hasn't erupted since the 18th century. We got to go in a hot spring and take a "mud bath" it was supposed to take years off our lives... we jumped right in! Gullible Americans! :)

Best of all we met some really nice people from all over the world on our trip! Here is Stanley with our favorite St. Lucian "Jamer." It was a great trip!  Looking forward to sharing Stanley's adventures with 2Y!
