Now Presenting: Our Weather Song!

This past month has been spent learning about weather. We have explored different types of clouds and how they can help predict the type of weather to come. We have been especially intrigued by wild weather!  This week we created poetry around rain and thunder images that we drew and painted. Creating the images first is a great way to spark rich language!
We also learned about the water cycle and created bracelets to help us remember the parts of the water cycle. Ask us to sing you the Water Cycle Song to the tune of "She'll be coming round the mountain!"
Water travels in a cycle, yes it does.

Water travels in a cycle, yes it does.
It goes up as evaporation
forms clouds as condensation
Then comes down as precipitation, yes it does!
Today we had a last minute opportunity to introduce the Fourth Grade Weather Team during our school morning meeting! We have been practicing our weather song for over a month and sing it daily in our own classroom. Each day we have a different member of the class report on the current weather as our meteorologist of the day! We have also incorporated some sign language signs and fill out a class bar graph to accompany our song. We did awesome!!!

Next week we will be starting non-fiction weather book clubs and continue our weather images....stay tuned!
