Phew! We worked very hard these past few weeks publishing our realistic fiction stories. Our creativity and organizational skills were put to the test! Each student created his or her own character and developed a realistic problem which the character encountered and then overcame. After the characters were created, we took our planning a little further and used graphic organizers to help us plan. Once we completed our graphic organizers, we worked on illustrating our stories with colorful and detailed drawings. Revisiting our stories enabled us to revise and edit before publishing our final pieces. We loved working on our own stories just as much as we loved to read and share with one another!
