Dinosaur Dig
We have spent the past few weeks studying dinosaurs and finished our unit with our dinosaur dig. We played the part of a Paleontologist and studied the bones we found on our excavation site. The bones we found tell us a lot about the species of dinosaurs and what the land was once like. From the bones, teeth and fossils we found we could tell if our creature was a herbivore/carnivore/omnivore, if they were a bi-ped/quadraped (walked on 2 or 4 legs) and physical characteristics/defense mechanisms of our dinosaur. Wow, those are some big words! Ask us what our findings can tell us! We learned a lot and were able to apply it into our final dig. We also had to measure our findings and document what we found through pictures and writing just like a real Paleontologist would do. We shared our findings during our dinosaur museum and had a great day exploring.
