Reading
· Follow classroom routines for reader’s workshop
· Successful with Directed Reading Assessment Level 24 (Instructional)
· Be able to complete reading response sheets for books (Remind Me sheet, Plot sheet or 3 facts from a nonfiction book )
· Be able to retell what is happening on a page or section of text (Read, Stop, Think Strategy)
· Be able to ask questions a, wonder and make predictions about a book being read
· Be able to retell what happens in a book read, including beginning, middle and end.
· Be able to read Word Wall Words lists 1-16 (80 words) and many words with these phonics patterns; long vowel silent e rule, igh, oo, oo, ai, oa, ea, ee
· Participate in classroom reading experiences such as ; read alouds, choral reading, book clubs and sharing circle
Writing
· Follow the class routines for writer’s workshop
· Be able to write multiple short sentences with details. (rock and mineral descriptions)
· Experience writing a thank you letter. (Letters to school staff)
· Write a story on a student chosen topic with a beginning middle and end
· Go through the full writing process with at least one small moment narrative.
(Drafting from a plan, revising, editing, publishing one story in neat printing or typed form)
· Show a growing awareness of writing for readers - neater printing, more appropriate use of upper and lower case letters, spaces between words, standard spelling from word wall and environmental print, or invented spelling (using letters to represent most sounds in the words), some punctuation
· Correct spelling for the first 80 word wall words (list 1- 16) many words with these phonics patterns long vowel CVCe words, igh, oo, oo, ai, oa, ee, ea
Math - Benchmarks Everyday Math – (Items assessed for adequate benchmark progress from Units 4, 5 and 6 )
Number and Numeration
· Count up by 5s, 10s and 25s
· Read numbers between 0 - 1000 orally.
· Write whole numbers using standard base 10 notation.
· Recognize numbers as odd or even.
· Count in the thousands
· Order whole numbers in the hundreds and thousands
Operations and Computation
· Solve an addition number story problem
· Know addition facts 0-18
· Calculate the value of coin combinations
· Write fact family for a given three number
· Solve part/part total addition problems
Patterns Functions and Algebra
· Fill in number grid puzzle
· Complete “What’s my rule? table
· Use >, <, and = symbols
Measurement
· Identify sensible measures in given temperature situations using the class thermometer poster
· Write the temperature
· Record times as shown on a demonstration clock (hour, half hour, quarter hour)
Geometry
· Draw line segments
· Identify 2-dimensional figures
Data and Chance
· Interpret a bar graph
Science – Participation in Science inquiry activities and Geology Unit and Woodland Animal Unit
